ROBBO JOINS THE TRIBE!
The Panthers are super excited to welcome Mitch “Robbo” Robinson to the Panther tribe for season 2023. Mitch is a ferocious and competitive beast who is best known for his hardness at the ball. He loves playing footy and we will love to see his infectious and enthusiastic personality around the Panthers this coming season!
Robbo played his junior football in Tasmania before being drafted by Carlton in the 2008 AFL Draft. He was signed by the Lions in 2014 and was the joint Merrett-Murray B&F Medal winner in 2015. He also achieved a B&F runner up and two 3rd placings and was twice an All-Australian nominee. He also earned himself the Brisbane Lions Player’s Player award in 2019 as well as the Shaun Hart Trademark Player of the Year. Robbo played 247 games during his time with Carlton and the Brisbane Lions and kicked 129 goals.
Panthers senior coach Paul Egan said ‘to have a player of Mitch’s calibre leading from the front will be a major boost to the team and the club. Mitch is a hard nut leader who bleeds for the team. With 14 seasons of quality AFL team and individual experience he will be a fantastic addition to the team and bring out the best in his teammates’. Needless to say, we will have a strong supporter following for our games!
We extend a big Panther welcome to Mitch’s family Emma MacNeil, Chance, Charli and little Maali we look forward to having you as part of the Panther family.
Welcome Mitch we can’t wait to see you in the Red, White & Black!
