Girls make it to the semi finals, plenty of events coming up including AFL September Finals Series. Read all about it below!
GIRLS INTO THE SEMI FINALS!
On Saturday afternoon the senior women played an elimination final against Robina Roos. The girls showed fantastic heart and determination to progress further into the final series. The team set off from the first bounce and started the game brilliantly, scoring a total of 24 points to 1 in the first Quarter. From there the team only built further, finishing the game victorious with 10 goals amongst the team. The final result ended 75 to 9. The Senior Women take on Moreton Bay in the semi final AWAY next weekend. Congrats to Summer Pearce who was our Place Bulimba best on ground. 2022 QAFL SEASON WRAP!
And that’s a wrap for the 2022 season for the QAFL sides. Although we didn’t get a result on Saturday we showed a lot of heart and great moments against a top side in Broadbeach Cats . Back stronger in 2023! A special shout out to Erika Spicer in her last game as physio for the panthers squad! We will miss you, Erika. Once a sider always a sider. RESULTS:

MORNINGSIDE AFC 2023 QAFL SENIOR COACH, FOOTBALL DIRECTOR & SENIOR TEAM COACHES
Morningside AFC Senior Division is recruiting Coaches for the 2023 Season. The Club is a highly regarded organisation with a rich history of strong on field performances and a well-established club culture. We have 6 Male and Female Senior Teams currently participating in the QAFL and other associated Divisions. Across these teams we have a number of senior coaching opportunities for individuals to join our Coaching Panel to pursue future success across the Club in our activities both on and off the playing fields.
The Football Director Position is a new position reporting to the President Senior Football, the Senior Football Director has responsibility to:
• Oversight and management of Coaching appointments and performance for Senior, Reserves, and Colts (initially Men’s)
• Oversight of player recruitment, list management and internal talent pathways
• Oversight of Strength and Conditioning Coach(s) and medical staff appointments
We welcome “Expressions of Interest “from those who believe they have the passion, commitment and skills to support our goals to operate at the highest levels of Australian Rules Football in Queensland and be an integral part of our Club with its important position in our community. MAFC values highly the commitment required for these roles, we are able to have flexible arrangements to ensure we attract suitable applicants.
Positions Available:
QAFL Senior Men – Senior Coach.
QAFL Senior Men – Assistant/Line Coaches.
QAFL Reserves Men – Coach and Assistant/Line Coaches.
QAFL Colts – Coach and Assistant/Line Coaches
QFA Division # 3 Men – Coach and Assistant/ Line Coaches
QFAW Division # 1 Women’s – Coach, Reserves Coach and Assistant/Line Coaches
Senior Men’s Football – Football Director Position (initially men’s programme)
The successful candidates will need to exhibit:
- Demonstrated mentoring, communication and leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge and experience in the game (or transferrable skills)
- High level of team, time and organisational management.
- Implementation of successful individual and group development.
- Compliance with MAFC Football and Community Engagement Policies.
- AFL Coaching Accreditation to suitable level (or plans to undertake same).
